Hello! This blog is being written after Super Bowl…great job Chiefs! The thing about super bowl Sunday around our house, is that for the most part it is any other Sunday… we are more basketball people (Go Warriors!) However, I was in the mood to make a simple dip that I hadn’t made in years. A dip that comes with a story of course.
This is BLT Dip. It is an odd name because there is definitely no “L” in it. It is literally 5 ingredients and if I was the one naming it I would have just called it bacon dip, because frankly the bacon is the star of the show here.
As for the story (you can skip to the recipe if you would like) For my bridal shower (almost 14 years ago) the guests were supposed to bring a recipe so I could build a recipe book. I still have the recipes and use them often, I loved the gesture! Well, two of the guests gave me this recipe for BLT Dip…the exact same recipe. The problem was there was MUCH debate and quite the…exuberant….conversation of who the recipe actually belonged to and who it originated from. LOL!
The best part is that it is not some complicated recipe…and I am pretty sure (100 percent sure) they were not the one’s to make it up. So today I would like to present to you
MY FAMOUS BLT DIP
Just kidding.
Who in the world knows where it actually came from. But I still wanted to share it with you my Heirloom family, because it is easy, quick, and tasty.
PS. I NEEDED to share this microwave bacon maker. Guys. It is literally goals and it WORKS. No mess. And you have crispy yummy bacon in minutes without messing up your pans. You could also bake it in the oven, but this is an awesome kitchen gadget to have one hand!
